Social and
Emotional Learning

Empowering students with the confidence, compassion, and resilience to thrive at every stage of life.

Discover how Ashbrook Independent School, integrates social and emotional learning
to build confidence, character, and resilience.

Beginning School

Preschool Through Prekindergarten

Our youngest Ashbrook Explorers develop the foundational skills to build meaningful friendships, express themselves with confidence, and show compassion for others. By weaving social and emotional learning into everyday experiences, we nurture confident, capable, and thoughtful individuals who are prepared to thrive in the classroom and beyond.

Lower School

Kindergarten Through 4th Grade

In Ashbrook’s elementary school, social and emotional learning encourages students to better understand themselves, manage their emotions, and appreciate the perspectives of others. Through engaging lessons and collaborative activities, students explore kindness, perseverance, and personal responsibility while developing the confidence and skills to overcome challenges and make a positive difference in their community.

Middle School

5th Through 8th Grade

In Ashbrook’s middle school, social-emotional learning empowers students to embrace their individuality, explore new perspectives, and navigate the challenges of adolescence with confidence. Through meaningful discussions, team-building activities, and community service, students strengthen their empathy, resilience, and self-awareness while learning to set healthy boundaries, make responsible decisions, and become positive contributors to their communities.
