Service Learning

Instilling a sense of community and belonging through service to others.

At Ashbrook, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Through meaningful service opportunities, students develop compassion, leadership, and a sense of responsibility to their communities.

Students participate in service projects organized by grade level, as well as initiatives inspired by student and teacher interests. Past projects have included collecting essential toiletries and cleaning supplies for Community Outreach, organizing penny drives to support disaster relief efforts, and bringing crafts and music to residents of local assisted living communities.

Service learning is also strengthened by our partnership with families. Through open communication, shared values, and opportunities for family involvement, we work together to nurture students who understand the importance of contributing to something greater than themselves.

Personal & Social Responsibility

Through service learning and everyday experiences, Ashbrook students are encouraged to:

  • Learn self-control both physically and emotionally;
  • Exhibit personal integrity by striving to achieve consistency between words and actions;
  • Be self-reflective by establishing personal foundational beliefs and courageously standing up for those
    beliefs;
  • Encounter other cultures for the purpose of developing a broader global perspective;
  • Develop a heart for those less fortunate and a desire for community service as the responsibility of a good citizen of the world.

At Ashbrook, we believe that no one is too young to make a difference, and through service learning, our students discover that even small acts of kindness and generosity can create a lasting impact.
