Our Character Traits

Beyond our small class sizes, beautiful campus, and exceptional programs in art, theater, music, and world languages, Ashbrook takes great pride in our commitment to character education.

As educators, it is both our joy and privilege to challenge and nurture academically capable students, helping them build a strong foundation in reading, writing, mathematics, and beyond. But at Ashbrook, we believe a truly exceptional education involves more than academic achievement. It also means helping students develop the character, confidence, and compassion to become the best versions of themselves.

Character education isn’t taught as a separate subject. Instead, it is thoughtfully woven into the fabric of everyday learning. From physical education and science to music, art, and literature, our teachers use real-world examples, meaningful discussions, and engaging storytelling to help students explore important character traits and understand how to put them into practice.

Through these experiences, students learn the value of integrity, empathy, perseverance, respect, and personal responsibility. They discover that the choices they make, the way they treat others, and the courage they show in difficult moments all contribute to the people they become.

Just like the academic skills they develop throughout their education, these lessons extend far beyond the classroom. The character students build during their years at Ashbrook becomes a foundation they can carry throughout their lives, helping them navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive difference in whatever paths they choose to pursue.
