Ashbrook thrives because of the active partnership we cultivate between campus and home, and nowhere is that more evident than in our Family Service Hours program and the incredible contributions of our parent volunteers. This is not simply a requirement, but a collective effort to steward our school that results in incredible institutional strength.

Ashbrook families commit to giving their time and talents back to the school each year, and the results are transformative (you can check out the Family Handbook, Section 3D, Family Service Hours, here). From organizing events to helping in classrooms, from maintaining campus grounds to supporting student activities, from sitting on the Heads Advisory Council to working as members of the PTO, our parent volunteers are everywhere, cheerfully and capably enriching the student experience of every child, and helping our staff deliver on the promise of our mission (as I write, in fact, I am doing my best to avoid grazing past the table in the staff room, which parents have recently loaded up for the past two days with Snack-a-Palooza items to fortify our teachers meeting with parents in spring conferences: THANK YOU!).

This model provides much more than efficiency; it builds community. Parents form friendships, share ownership of the school’s mission, and model for their children what it means to serve and invest in something greater than oneself. Students benefit not just from extra hands, but from a culture where everyone, adults and children alike, is working together.

We are proud that our school operates with the energy, care, and dedication of a truly collaborative community. Without our parent volunteers, Ashbrook wouldn’t be nearly as extraordinary as it is, and with them, we are stronger than we could have ever imagined. Their generosity is much more than appreciated; it’s essential to all we do.

At Ashbrook, volunteering isn’t a chore, it’s a joy. It’s one of the many ways our families help make our school extraordinary.
