Greetings Ashbrook Families,
My name is Kayla Weber and I would like to formally introduce myself as the new physical education and health teacher at Ashbrook Independent School! I am beyond excited to start building the best PE program and be joining in such a wonderful community of educators.
I am originally from Florida, where I grew up playing any sport I could get my hands on. I have competed in everything from bowling and badminton to football and basketball, but my one true passion is soccer. I have pursued the sport now for over 20 years, finishing my competitive career at the collegiate level.
In May of 2018, I received my bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science, concentration in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado. In my class, my number one priority is, and always will be the well-being and growth of my students; physically, emotionally, cognitively, socially and academically. I hope to instill a passion for sport, physical activity, and healthy living through developmentally appropriate lessons, composed with ingenuity, creativity and individualized to meet the needs of every student.
In my free time, I like to explore my new home here in Oregon. You will find me cheering for the Portland Thorns women’s soccer team, hiking, and camping whenever possible. I love getting to see all that this beautiful state has to offer.
I cannot wait to meet all of you in person and begin this exciting new school year! I hope you all are enjoying your summers!
Cheers,
Kayla Weber
