Founder & Senior Board Member David Gore
David Gore earned a BS degree in physics from Colorado College, and an M.A. degree in linguistics from the University of Oregon. He taught in the Peace Corps in Malaysia and as a graduate assistant at UCSD, then went on to do research and development in desalination and rapid prototyping. He has been granted five patents in the course of this work.
David Gore has decades of experience working on boards, first with his family company (W.L. Gore & Associates) and later also with non-profit organizations: Space Studies Institute, Cascade Policy Institute, and Ashbrook.
Together with his wife, he founded Ashbrook Independent School in 1993 and, for the first three years at the school’s opening in the fall of 1997, served as its principal. The physical layout of the school and its philosophy and general curriculum approaches are largely his design. From the inception of the school in 1993 until 2016, he chaired Ashbrook’s board.
