How an Independent School is Financed:

Basic Tuition:

Basic tuition covers the school's most basic operating needs (salaries, benefits, financial obligations, utilities, insurances, routine maintenance, and supplies, etc.). In aggregate, tuition covers only about 85% of the school's operating expenses, leaving about 15% to be raised through fund-raising efforts.

Donor Contributions:

The balance of the school's budget and what allows us to go "above and beyond" in serving your children is raised though contributions from families and supporters. At Ashbrook Independent School, we ask all families to contribute to our Explorer Fund-Annual Campaign and to participate in our annual scholarship auction. Together, these two activities raise the balance of the funds needed to enrich our basic curriculum, offer a wide variety of electives, upgrade and maintain equipment, provide professional development for staff, and offer financial assistance for qualified families. Ashbrook is a 501c-3 non-profit, so most of these contributions are tax-deductible.
