Admissions Process

Ashbrook Admissions Process

Ashbrook welcomes new students and their families to consider joining our school community. We accept enrollment applications any time during the school year with the goal of getting to know each prospective student to ensure that our school is the best fit for the student’s overall educational success.

For the 23-24 school year, we are anticipating wait pools in the following classes: Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 7th grade.
Please contact us at (541) 766-8313 if you are interested in enrollment for those grades.

An in-person or virtual tour of the facility, individually or as a family, helps prospective families understand the extent of our programs and curriculum and gain a greater in-depth perspective to inform decision making.  The tour is typically hosted by the school’s Assistant Head of School and is catered to your student’s specific grade level.  Please call us at 541-766-8313 or email the Admissions Team at admissions@ashbrookschool.org to schedule a tour.

The completed application signals a prospective family’s intent to pursue admissions for their student(s) attending Ashbrook.  The application is completed through a link on our website is specific to the grade level your student is applying for. You cannot save the online application form to return later, so we encourage you to allot sufficient time to complete it at one time.  You can move forward or backward through the sections of the form, but you will not be able to move to a new section until all required fields are filled in for the previous section.  After you complete the application, you must hit submit on the bottom of the final page for the information to be successfully sent. When making admissions decisions, we look at multiple areas of an applicant’s development.  To ensure that we are able to get a full understanding of a prospective student, we do ask for families to provide completed Teacher Recommendation forms to the Admissions Team as part of the Admissions Process. Teacher Recommendation forms can be submitted as part of the application (via email or mail) and preferably prior to the Admissions Visit.  Recommendations must be submitted before a final Admissions Decision can be made.

An Admissions Visit is a time for the Ashbrook staff to meet a prospective student and family to learn more about a student’s academic, behavioral and social/emotional skills and knowledge.  This visit also allows parents to ask more in depth questions about the school’s programs and curriculum.  There is an Admissions Processing Fee of $75 per student applying that will need to be paid when you come to the school for the Admissions Visit.

For students in Preschool through Kindergarten, the Admissions Visit typically takes place after school and lasts about 30-45 minutes.  Staff will have the prospective student complete assessment activities and ask questions to the parents about the student’s development and academic progress.

For students in grades 1-8, the Admissions Visit involves a day-long visit to the school where the prospective student follows the daily schedule of an Ashbrook student partner.  During the day the prospective student will take several assessments in reading, writing and math to help gather additional information about the student’s current academic levels.

After the prospective student spends time at Ashbrook and all necessary assessment data has been collected (including teacher recommendations from the student’s current school), the Admissions Team will review the information to determine if the prospective student is a good fit for Ashbrook.  The Admissions Team will then make a recommendation to the Principal regarding an Enrollment Offer.

If enrollment is offered, an invitation to enroll is extended via parent email with instructions for online enrollment completion.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting you.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 541-766-8313 or email the Admissions Team at admissions@ashbrookschool.org.
