An integrated approach to teaching and learning across multiple content areas fosters meaningful social connections, thinking skills, and a love of learning.
Core content areas in first through fourth grade include: math concepts and skills, including number concepts and operations, problem solving, and reasoning; language arts skills, including listening and speaking, reading skills, and written expression; science skills, including understanding the scientific process and making logical connections; social studies, including understanding geography, history, and cultures, from a global perspective.
Daily classes in foreign languages, music, and physical education weekly art and drama round out the Lower School curriculum.
Additional skills are taught throughout the day, including programs in character education, social skills, study skills, problem solving, and conflict management.
Middle School advisory groups are paired with Lower School homerooms as Ashbrook Buddies. Buddy activities reinforce multi-age personal connections and the Ashbrook community.
